Thyme

This aromatic, bushy evergreen shrub is popular for its strong lemon scent. Recipient of the "Award of garden merit" by the royal horticultural society this species of thyme is easy to grow and can reach heights of 12 inches tall and grow as wide. Small tubular flowers, pale lilac in colour bloom in early summer and attract butterflies and bees.  Plant this herb in a sunny spot with well-drained soil also ideal for rock gardens.
